Join us for an insightful presentation on the impact of inclusive hiring at Accessible Accommodation, where 50% of our staff live with a disability. We’ll share the valuable lessons we’ve learned, including increased employee loyalty, reduced sick leave, and enhanced customer relations. Discover how employing people with disability (PWD) fosters creativity in problem-solving, supported by real-life examples.

11:30am Australian Network Disability  Inclusive Internships and Mentoring with Australian Disability Network
Learn about Australian Disability Network’s internship and mentoring program’s. This session will cover the structure of each program, eligibility, application process, and the essential support offered, including workplace adjustments and interview coaching. We’ll discuss how these initiatives open pathways to meaningful employment for students with disability and provide practical tools to share this information within your university. By spreading the word, you’ll play a key role in connecting more students with disability to career-enhancing opportunities.

Fundamentals for Employers: Co-designing Inclusive Recruitment Practices for Employers
Come join genU Training for the opportunity to contribute to our upcoming micro-credential, focused on providing employers the capability to inclusively attract, find, interview, onboard and support people with disability in their employment.

This workshop will be interactive and aims to capture real experiences and input from people with lived experience which will inform the content in the course, ensuring it meets the needs, and is informed by, the voices of people with disability.

In this presentation, we will explore the vital role of various government agencies in enforcing workplace laws and ensuring that employees receive their minimum entitlements. Additionally, we’ll showcase the free tools and resources available on our website, designed to help both employers and employees navigate these laws effectively.

So, you want to be employed and it’s not so easy to get a job.  Ever thought about starting your own business or being a part of a small group of people running a business?  Where would you start?  Simple! Talk to EdAble. EdAble is a Social Enterprise, with Tax Deductibility (DGR)Status , working to increase employment opportunities for people with neurodiversities. The WorkAbility Expo is designed for people with disabilities who are looking for employment or information about supports available to help you people with disability into employment, their families, caregivers.

The event is free to attend, but we recommend registering in advance to secure your spot.

We encourage all attendees to register in advance to ensure a smooth check-in process and to receive updates about the event.

If you don’t have an email address or cannot register prior to the event – just come along on the day and one of our friendly staff will register you in.

A wide range of employers from various industries committed to employing people with disability will be present. This includes mainstream employers, dedicated disability employers, Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs), small business and sole traders.

There will also be a range of support services including disability employment service (DESs), training organisations, disability support providers and government and advocacy organisations.
