NDIS Employment Assistance
Learn about the employment supports available through the NDIS to help participants build skills for work, find and keep a job.
Receive useful information and resources to help participants talk about their work goals, prepare for a planning conversation and connect to a suitable provider.

10:30 – 11:00am Fair Work Ombudsman

Getting Help with Workplace Issues
Join the Fair Work Ombudsman (FW) in a collaborative session to help us explore the needs of workers with disability in understanding workplace rights. By attending this workshop, you can: – understand the role and scope of the FWO. Provide insights into issues affecting your workplace rights that you’ve experienced. Tell us where you currently get your workplace information from. Learn about the FWO s free resource available to you.

Fundamentals for Employers: Co-designing Inclusive Recruitment Practices for Employers
Come join genU Training for the opportunity to contribute to our upcoming micro-credential, focused on providing employers the capability to inclusively attract, find, interview, onboard and support people with disability in their employment.

This workshop will be interactive and aims to capture real experiences and input from people with lived experience which will inform the content in the course, ensuring it meets the needs, and is informed by, the voices of people with disability.

You’ve applied for the job, prepared for the interview – now what? For people with disabilities, navigating the interview process and maintaining long term employment can come with unique challenges. This introductory workshop provides practical strategies to help you approach job interviews with confidence, discuss workplace adjustments effectively, and set yourself up for success in your new role.

The WorkAbility Expo is a dedicated event connecting people with disability and inclusive employers, providing resources, support, and networking opportunities to advance their employment journeys.

The expo is designed for people with disabilities who are looking for employment, their families, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning about inclusive employment opportunities.

The event is free to attend, but we recommend registering in advance to secure your spot.

We encourage all attendees to register in advance to ensure a smooth check-in process and to receive updates about the event.

If you don’t have an email address or cannot register prior to the event – just come along on the day and one of our friendly staff will register you in.

A wide range of employers from various industries committed to employing people with disability will be present. This includes mainstream employers, dedicated disability employers, Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs), small business and sole traders.

Yes, all our venues are fully accessible, with ramps and lifts available to ensure easy access for all attendees.
