Learn about the employment supports available through the NDIS to help participants build skills for work, find and keep a job.

Clear Sky Australia discuss their unique work experience initiatives. The Village Grocer and Clear Paws programs are designed to provide genuine work experience opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight our commitment to fair work and fair wages for all Australians. 
12:00pm Spinal Cord Injuries Australia Building a Disability Confident Workforce
SCIA has three pillars to build a disability inclusive workforce. This informative session will cover how we develop job ready employees, build confident employers and the match them together to form sustainable and meaningful working relationships.
12:30pm Kylie Scott Workplace woes to Exciting Employment
Kylie Scott has had a chequered work history. When at TAFE, after having been the first child with Down Syndrome to be fully included in her local schools, Kylie did part-time work at a fast food outlet and at a supermarket – but, as she says, these jobs were pretty underwhelming at the time. Now lets hear the rest of her story…
1:00pm Council of Intellectual Disability More Then Just a Job – Helping People Understand Their Skills and Strengths
More Than Just a Job aims to make open employment for people with intellectual disability an everyday occurrence. Are you a person with intellectual disability looking for a job? The More Than Just a Job workshop can help you understand your skills and strengths, know your career goals, and choose jobs that are right for you. This workshop will introduce you to career planning resources co-produced by people with intellectual disability.

Fundamentals of Inclusion At Work
This workshop will provide an overview of how to create a truly inclusive workplace through key practices. It will highlight the powerful benefits of inclusivity, not only for individuals with disability but also for teams, organisations, and businesses as a whole. The information presented will be straightforward yet impactful, accessible, and relatable, featuring anonymised case studies to illustrate these concepts.

The WorkAbility Expo is a dedicated event connecting people with disability and inclusive employers, providing resources, support, and networking opportunities to advance their employment journeys.

The expo is designed for people with disabilities who are looking for employment, their families, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning about inclusive employment opportunities.

The event is free to attend, but we recommend registering in advance to secure your spot.

We encourage all attendees to register in advance to ensure a smooth check-in process and to receive updates about the event.

If you don’t have an email address or cannot register prior to the event – just come along on the day and one of our friendly staff will register you in.

A wide range of employers from various industries committed to employing people with disability will be present. This includes mainstream employers, dedicated disability employers, Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs), small business and sole traders.

Yes, all our venues are fully accessible, with ramps and lifts available to ensure easy access for all attendees.
