Today is R U OK? Day! It’s our national day of action to remind Australians to ask, “Are you OK?”

People with disabilities are at a higher risk of suicide. A 2023 report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare found that those under 65 who use disability services have a suicide rate three times higher than the general population of the same age. This statistic is a stark reminder of the challenges faced by our community members with disability.

Let’s take action today. Reach out to someone you know and ask, “Are you OK?” Your conversation could make a big difference. Together, we can support each other and work towards a future where everyone feels heard and valued. 💛

These happy, smiling faces gave up their Friday and Saturday to greet our attendees, check everyone in and help with information and accessibility. We couldn't run our Expos without our volunteers, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
